About Us

In the late 1990s, a curious visitor wandered through a Smithsonian Museum craft fair in Washington, D.C. He was David Bolotsky, a former Wall Street analyst who saw more than beautiful handmade goods—he saw the hands, stories, and dreams behind them. He imagined a world where the maker in a distant village could connect directly with a creative individual in America, without being limited by geography.

That spark became Uncommon Goods, an in-person store in Southaven, Mississippi, nestled at 874 Barrington Woods Cove, Southaven Mississippi 38671, United States. We began by offering curious travelers and locals alike a selection of artful, one-of-a-kind pieces—each item thoughtfully made and rich with story. Today, inspired by that same visionary spirit, we’re launching our online home décor store—to bring meaningful decorative treasures into homes across the United States.

Every product we offer carries a story: the artisan’s journey, the thoughtful design, the sustainable materials. We honor independent creativity, handcraft, and conscientious sourcing—values deeply rooted in Uncommon Goods’ legacy. Our goal isn’t merely to decorate your space, but to weave meaningful narratives into your home.

We’re more than a shop; we’re a community curated for curious Americans who appreciate artistry, purpose, and originality.
